Welcome to summer!

Help us kick off the season by sharing a photo of your favorite ice cream on social media for your chance to win some local Dairy Dollars (aka gift certificate to a nearby ice cream shop)! June is Dairy Month (as well as Beef Steak, Turkey Lovers, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable, and Rose).

We want your help cooling off these hot summer days with dairy's favorite product. The ice cream can be home churned or store bought; we just want you to tag #tnmagicmoments and to take a moment to thank a dairy farmer that made that treat possible.

Share on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook your #tnmagicmoments through June 20 for your chance to win.

While Cruze Farm and Colleen have become known for their delicious ice cream and buttermilk, Colleen has scooped up some serious empowerment for women pursuing careers in agriculture. We sat down this farm girl to find out her personal journey in farming. She dished a bit about Cruze Farm's pop-up ice cream shop in downtown Knoxville as well. Summer 2017 is clearly all about the slow churn. Listen now.

Ellen Wolfe, a retired teacher who volunteers with SeedFork, helped to organize the first Celebration of Local Foods, a four-course meal for 155 in Dogwood Park, hosted by SeedFork and Downtown Green Market farmers market. Nestled in the park's theater-style "bowl," guests listened to live music and savored four courses concocted by four different chefs who coordinated the salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert, all made with food provided by ten local farmers.
